It has been a tough week…. And yes Im feeling drained and maybe you feel the same way too…
Give yourself some grace.
Someone reminded me of this recently.
Often, when we don’t achieve the goals we set, we tend to beat ourselves up and tell ourselves we’re not good enough.
I’ve been pushing myself every day in many ways and I’m guilty of often feeling “not good enough” instead of celebrating what I am capable of doing.
Why do we do this to ourselves?
I’m sure it’s not just me; many of you probably feel the same way.
Looking back 9 months ago after my accident, I struggled to stay awake, needed help getting out of bed, and dealt with severe headaches, Dizziness, nausea and vomiting. I couldn’t move my neck properly and had constant neck and back pain.
A few months ago, I struggled with driving again, but now I am doing much better, at 90% recovery.
Yet, I still beat myself up for not being at 100%.
The past two weeks were challenging then someone told me to give myself some grace.
It hit me that I had been so focused on what my limitations and that I was not recognizing what I have achieved.
So, what lessons can we take from this?
I have to constantly remind my to stop beating myself up and maybe you should too.

Celebrate Small Wins
Acknowledge and celebrate your achievements, no matter how small they may seem. Each step forward is progress.
Set Realistic Goals
While it’s great to aim high, make sure your goals are attainable and give yourself enough time to achieve them.
Practice Self-Compassion
Treat yourself with the same kindness and understanding that you would offer to a friend. It’s okay to stumble and take breaks.
Reflect on Progress
Regularly take a moment to look back and see how far you’ve come.
This helps us in appreciating our journey rather than just focusing on the destination.
We tend to forget what we already have as we strive for more.
Let’s remind ourselves to appreciate our efforts, recognize our achievements, and give ourselves some grace along the way.
I just want to thank all the supportive human beings around me.
