Thirteen years ago, Meldz created the Pinoys in NZ Facebook group for something simple — to gather kababayans for Vice Ganda’s concert. Who would have thought that small start would turn into one of the biggest Filipino communities in New Zealand?
Over the years, our group became more than just a page — it became a living, breathing community.
Here, countless stories have been shared — happy and sad. We’ve seen bayanihan in action through “Give a Little” campaigns, we’ve had our share of dramas and marites moments, but more importantly, we’ve built real friendships, business partnerships, mentorship opportunities, and a space where we learn from those who are ahead of us.
From Online Connection to Real-Life Partnership
Just a little backstory — I met Meldz in 2016 through a charity event we organized to help kababayans start strong and address urgent issues in the community.
